Attitude is everything.
If you wake up in the morning, stub your toe walking to the shower, spill coffee on your new shirt, get stuck in traffic on the way to work and therefore you’re late, missing an important meeting – how is your day affected? Are you angry the rest of the day? Or do you decide that things happen, take a deep breath and work to make the rest of the day better?
Or what happens if you miss your workout and then have a cheeseburger for dinner? Do you forget your fitness goals and never go to the gym again or do you step it up and make sure that next time you miss the gym you eat better?
Jack Canfield, author of The Success Principles (one of my FAVORITE books), is someone who always stresses the importance of attitude and how it affects what you do and how you look at things. A negative attitude won’t take you anywhere you want to go.

Next time something goes wrong – take a deep breath – then try to find the best in the situation. You’ll be amazed to see the difference in yourself and what you can do.
Try it.

If you didn’t watch the video above go back and watch it. Jack explains his theory of “reverse parinoia” and how it relates to attitude. It’s good. Napoleon Hill discusses the effect of mind set on life in his classic book, “Think and Grow Rich”, first published in the midst of the great depression of the 1930s. Most self help gurus have read this book and if Jack’s message touches you, you would benefit from it.

Attitude is a vital component of your fitness program, it is important to have a positive attitude if you are going to achieve the results you want. It can be difficult to keep motivated at times so it might be helpful to write \"tasks & progress\" down, in other words keeping a training diary. Another good thing is to find yourself \"distractions\" for when you need motivation, maybe a photo of what you want to look like or some type of personal reward for completing your workout (NOT A CHEESEBURGER!)
all the best,
Mike
