Top Two Supplements for Women and Weight Loss

I often get asked to recommend supplements – now while there are TONS that I think every woman should be taking — there are a few that are essential to weight loss and getting a flat stomach.

What are dietary supplements?

Dietary supplements are exactly what they sound like — a product (usually in the form of a pill or powder) you take to supplement an insufficency in your diet. In some cases with supplements there is no way you could eat (through food intake) as much as your body needs to meet your daily requirements. Taking supplements on a daily basis helps to ensure your body has all the vitamins and nutrients it needs to function properly.

What supplements should I be taking to lose weight?

Not to scare you or anything, but there are probably a lot of supplements that you could be taking right now to help improve your weight loss and help your body function better. However, today I’m going to focus on two supplements that you need to be taking now to help you lose weight.

#1 — Whey Protein

Whey protein is the best source of essential amino acids that your body needs to function properly every day. The amino acids found in whey protein help repair muscles after a workout, build muscle, as well as help your skin, nails and other body tissues. In regards to weight loss, studies have found that whey protein helps to slow down the absorption of glucose into the blood stream — making you feel fuller for longer. Adding a whey protein powder to your diet helps you lose more weight faster and adds more protein to your diet. Need more reasons why you need whey protein? One of my favorite protein supplements is Optimum Whey Protein — you can get it here in TONS of great flavors.

#2 — Fish Oil

I’m sure you have heard that fish oil is one of the best supplements out there for many different reasons. In regards to weight loss, researchers have found that taking a fish oil supplement daily helps to decrease the insulin levels in the body —

therefore decreasing the amount of fat stored in cells. The less fat stored in cells, the less fat on your body. Adding a fish oil supplement to your diet also increase the level of Omega-3s in your body which help decrease your chances of heart disease and other serious health issues.

One way to increase the levels of Omega-3s in your body is to eat fish, but to get ENOUGH fish oil you’re going to have to eat a TON of fish. That’s why adding a fish oil supplement to your diet is the best bet when trying to lose weight.

There are many different brands of fish oil out there — Optimum Fish Oil is my personal favorite — not to expensive and I trust the brand. You can grab a bottle of fish oil here.

These are just two of the many supplements that every woman should have in their diet — whether or not they are trying to lose weight. Adding these two supplements to your flat stomach diet will help you see results faster while giving your body the nutrients it needs to function better.
