Add Variety to Your Flat Stomach Diet – Three Veggies to Help You Lose Pounds

When you trying to stick to a flat stomach diet it can get boring eating the same foods over and over again – especially in the vegetable category. Well, lucky for you there are LOTS of super healthy veggies out there that will help you reach your flat stomach goals and fit perfectly into your flat stomach diet.

Not only will changing up the type of veggies you eat help you reach the USDA daily recommended seven to nine servings of vegetables but it will also give your taste buds a change – encouraging you to eat healthier more often.

The hardest part of picking new vegetables – and I totally understand – is trying to decide which one to try. If you don’t know what the vegetable is or what it tastes like its hard some days to be adventurous and randomly pick something.  So, to make it a bit easier for you – I’ve compared some of your favorite fruits and veggies to a new, super healthy counterparts that will help you change up your veggie selection – ensuring that you meet your daily servings.

If you like LETTUCE…Next time try BOK CHOY

I’ve walked past bok choy countless times always wondering what it would taste like. Once I found out how good it is for you – I had to give it a try – and honestly it was quite tasty! Bok choy is a green leafy vegetable that much resembles lettuce – that originates in Asia.  Bok Choy is most commonly used in stir frys, unlike lettuce.  This green leafy vegetable is a GREAT addition to your flat stomach diet as it is full of cancer fighting antioxidants.

If you like CARROTS…Next time try PARSNIPS

Parsnips are the carrots paler yet healthier cousin. Parsnips are full of fiber – actually twice the amount of fiber than a carrot. They are also a great source of  your daily needs for vitamin C and vitamin K. Researchers have also recently found that parsnips help to increase bone health, while the large amounts of fiber in parsnips help to control blood sugar. Parnsips don’t really taste much like a carrot and they can be an acquired taste – but when you add them to a salad or stir fry them with your bok choy – you get SO many extra nutrients that its a healthy taste I’m sure you can quickly get used too.

If you like PLUMS….Next time try FIGS

Figs are one of those secret sweet treats that are GREAT for you. A little darker than plums and not as messy, figs are a great mid-afternoon snack or daily dish. Add figs to your yogurt and granola or even put dried figs in your salad. Either way – you can’t go wrong with figs in your diet. Figs are a great source of fiber, calcium, and potassium – three vitamins and minerals that are essential to a healthy body.

No one said that a flat stomach diet has to be a boring diet of the same ol’fruits and vegetables. Changing it up with one of these fruits or vegetables will help you increase your daily servings of veggies – which only helps you reach your flat stomach goals that much faster. So next time you’re in the food store, don’t be scared to try something new because all it can do is help you get healthier.
